According to their About Page Craigslist makes money through limited ad sales in targeted markets. For us in Charlotte, North Carolina and most other places around the world, posting jobs and renting apartments via Craigslist is free.

However, there are some places they charge to do this. Great example to taking advantage and monetizing amazing traffic.

A: Ad fees for jobs in 18 cities, brokered NYC apartments, and therapeutic services.
